It was being reported yesterday evening that West Bromwich Albion were due to hold talks with Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma. We are continuing to be linked with Chris Smalling and Phil Jones aswell.

Beginning with Zouma, Sky Sports reported late last night that Zouma was due to hold talks with both ourselves and Stoke City at some point on Wednesday to discuss a season long loan move.

The 22 year old was out for almost a full year having suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury for Chelsea back in February 2016 and with him taking in 13 games for them last season as they retook the Premier League title, manager Antonio Conte would prefer him to spend a year out playing regularly and really getting his confidence and form back before he comes back into the mix for him.

Sky state that talks will be had with both West Brom and Stoke and we seem to be the only named clubs in the mix for him so we’ll have to see if today brings any news, but there are bound to be other suitors for him now this is public.

As for Manchester United pair Chris Smalling and Phil Jones, the Mirror were reporting that Tony Pulis was planning an ‘ambitious’ move for both.

27 year old Smalling and 25 year old Jones both have two years left on their contracts and they’d certainly fit the younger element that Pulis is said to want to introduce this summer, but the driver for this speculation seems to be the criticism they received last season from Mourinho added to the capture of Swedish international Victor Lindelof who is now expected to line up alongside Eric Bailly.

Again there’s nothing concrete at this stage but it’s one to watch.
