With the race for Chris Wood hotting up, Millwall Chairman John Berylson has tried a novel tactic in his attempt to secure the player.

He’s said he has agreed a price with us twice, but we keep moving the goalposts so now he’s issued a take it or leave offer, saying Albion will look stupid if they now sell for less.

Albion have refused to comment on his interview but I imagine the club are tempted to tell him to stick the offer where the sun doesn’t shine.

Quotes from the Birmingham Mail.

‘They told us £500,000 and I said fine. They said £1million and I said fine. So I’ve gone for it already – I’m done. For us, it’s a take it or leave it offer. We’re not going to increase it but I’m sure West Brom are thinking about an auction. If we take our bid off the table, which is worth well over £1million – that’s not including a sell on clause either – and West Brom end up selling him for half that in the future, they will look stupid.’

Brighton, Huddersfield and Leicester are also reportedly in the hunt for the player.
