Albion have tonight confirmed that Chris Wood will move to Leicester City for an undisclosed fee when the January window opens.

The two clubs struck a deal rumoured to be in the region of £1.25m to £1.5m, and Wood agreed terms with the Foxes earlier today.

Albion also accepted a similar offer from Millwall.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Sporting and Technical Director Dan Ashworth said.

‘Chris joined out Academy as a 15 year old and has progressed through the ranks. We have had fierce competition in the forward positions over the past few years, which means Chris has been unable to establish himself in the first team. He’s now had three really good spells out on loan and this is a good time for him to begin a new, permanent challenge. We wish him all the best at Leicester.’

I’m sure he’ll do well, and if he proves to be the missing piece in Nigel Pearson’s promotion campaign, we’ll see him next season.
