West Brom’s Longest Serving Player Adds A Further Year – Best News Of The Day

|

Well, it was the news that plenty of West Bromwich Albion fans wanted to hear – long-serving midfielder James Morrison has today put pen to paper on a new 12-month contract at The Hawthorns.

Our longest serving player extends his deal by a year having fully recovered from the injury that sidelined him as his existing contract came to a close, and that deal does include a further 12-months option in his favour.

Having joined us back in August 2007, he’s already earned his place in our history having been here for the past eleven years, racking up 39 goals in 317 appearances so far in the shirt. Having played his part in helping us into the Premier League all those years ago during his debut season, the 32-year-old gets a third bite at the cherry now after 2009/10’s achievements and he’ll be looking to help us back into the top-flight at the first time of asking after last year’s disappointment.

It’s certainly made the day of the fans below as they reacted on social media.
