West Brom’s England Man Set For Watford Switch

|

It’s being suggested today that Watford are trying to secure a deal for West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jake Livermore.

This speculation has come out of nowhere on deadline day as I don’t remember Livermore being linked with a move away – at least not any speculation that seemed solid in basis – in any event, Sky Sports are now reporting that the Vicarage Road outfit have expressed a firm interest in the 28-year-old but they want to do a loan deal initially with an option to buy further down the line.

Whether that is in January or next summer is open for debate, but I’m not sure how that suits us on a squad depth angle or financially, as if the cash doesn’t follow in January, we can’t use it to strengthen ourselves.

Having signed him from Hull City back in the January 2017 window, we would surely be looking for at least £15million as a bottom line given his more recent England caps I would think.

Feels like this deal would help them more than us.
