West Brom Youngster Stars On Loan Debut – “Professionalism & Composure In Everything You Did”

|

West Bromwich Albion youngster Alex Palmer secured himself an emergency loan spell out with League Two side Oldham Athletic at the tail-end of last week.

The 22-year-old headed to Boundary Park to provide cover between the posts as they saw Daniel Iversen called into the Denmark Under 21 squad, and fellow goalkeeper Zeuz De La Paz was out injured.

Having already spent time away with Kidderminster Harriers back in the season of 2015/16 where he made eleven appearances, this spell was set to see his proper EFL debut (although he had previously made his competitive West Brom debut for the Under 23 side in the EFL Trophy competition).

Oldham were facing Cambridge United on home soil and he took his place in the starting XI and did his job admirably, helping them to a 3-1 victory on the day.

It was only an emergency spell but he’ll have enjoyed his time on the pitch and I believe he returns to us this Friday.

He certainly seemed to make an impression on the above Oldham fans, and they were far from the only comments his Tweet received.
