So it’s finally come to an end, the long speculated departure of Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion has now come to pass and he’s joined Leicester City for a cut-price relegation induced fee.
Jonny Evans has joined @LCFC for an undisclosed fee.
We wish Jonny well in the future.#WBAhttps://t.co/62pB7aFQng

With so many clubs, especially Arsenal last January, linked with the Northern Ireland international, sadly 2017/18 just soured the relationship between fans and the player and that has certainly come out in the reactions to news of his departure this week.
Whilst the fee is officially undisclosed, as is now commonplace in football, the release fee on relegation has long been speculated to be only a paltry £3.5million but what we don’t gain in transfer funds, we no doubt benefit from in wages.
The briefest of statements from wba.co.uk wishes our former captain well for the future and simply states he made 96 appearances for the club, with a return of five goals in his three years with us.
As hinted at above, the reaction from fans to his departure probably needs no explanation and there are plenty of comments I simply cannot repeat and also a number of Gifs it would be wrong of me to show here as well.
Shame it ended this way, but it always seemed to be heading in this direction. Some did have praise though and others pointed out the stupidity of the decision to give him such a low release fee.
Hope he doesn’t get as many calf injuries as he did last season

Lucky escape. I wouldn't even wish him on Arsenal. Nothing player, rubbish Captain.

Good riddance

Brilliant first 2 seasons, last season waste of space.

Probably best for both parties. Was great when he first joined us and all the way up until he went off the rails a bit last season. Obviously wanted away from the hawthorns for some time so it’s always best to let players go if the Albion isn’t there priority

He disgraced himself with his behaviour in Barcelona and not putting in enough effort towards the latter part of the season. Was a different player before Man City and Arsenal came knocking.

Quality defender. Shit last season though.

Just an afterthought though. It's one reason we are in such a mess when we sell a player for 3.5 million who is worth about 3 times that and it is in 2 instalments. That's peanuts so why 2 installments??? Great financial management West Brom!

Congratulations on your move. No matter what some say you were a class above most of our players
