West Brom Talent Heads To Oldham On Emergency Loan

|

West Bromwich Albion confirmed yesterday that young goalkeeper Alex Palmer would be given the chance to impress during an emergency loan spell out with League Two side Oldham Athletic.

The Latics welcome Cambridge United to Boundary Park on Saturday but they are without a backup goalkeeper following Daniel Iversen being called into the Denmark Under 21 squad for the November international break – they also have Zeus De La Paz out injured.

The 22-year-old has progressed through our Academy levels in recent years and has already experienced a loan spell out with National League side Kidderminster Harriers back in the first half of the 2015/16 campaign, where he made 11 first team appearances.

He’s also appeared on the bench for West Brom on a handful of occasions, so this short spell out should be another good opportunity for him to impress and get a few more games under his belt at what will obviously be a higher level in the football pyramid, so it should be a good test for him and may open up options for the January window to get him more experience.

I believe the spell expires a week Friday.
