West Brom Talent Doesn’t Take His Chance To Impress

|

West Bromwich Albion Academy graduate Max Melbourne headed out to Scottish side Partick Thistle back in the August transfer window and on a loan spell, but it hasn’t gone as well as originally hoped.

The 20-year-old youngster hasn’t made his maiden senior bow for the Baggies yet, but he has technically made his competitive debut owing to the setup of the EFL Trophy competition that our Under 23s play in against League One and Two opposition.

In the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, he headed up North with Ross County where he made six appearances for them in the Scottish Premiership. Travelling back for a spell with Partick, he has made four starting appearances and one substitute showing (one goal), but he hasn’t featured for them since September where it looks like he fell out of favour.

Partick confirmed yesterday that his loan had been cancelled and he returned to us with immediate effect.

They did wish him well for the future, and the loan for the left-back was only until January anyway so hopefully we can get him out elsewhere and he can make up for lost time come the New Year.
