Reports this week have suggested that West Bromwich Albion’s ongoing search for a new head coach ahead of the Championship campaign of 2019/19 continue at some pace, and some decisions have already been made on who it won’t be – namely Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley given the speculation surrounding him for a period. It may well now be former West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic.

The BBC have claimed that we held provisional talks with the 50-year-old former Croatia manager, and that despite getting the sack from the Hammers back in November 2017, we remain impressed with the job he did with them.

His most recent spell in Saudi Arabia only lasted five months, so he is available and wouldn’t need any compensation to be paid, but despite his relative successes I’m not sure there will be many fans who find him to be the exciting name we were all hoping for as we look to the future and a proper rebuild.
