West Brom Reportedly Return To Everton To Enquire About 22 y/o

|

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly made an enquiry with Everton to see what our chances are of getting defender Mason Holgate back on loan for the coming 2019/20 Championship campaign.

The versatile 22-year-old spent the second half of last season with us at The Hawthorns, making 23 appearances in total as we suffered Play-Off heartbreak to locals Aston Villa, but having impressed plenty with his performances, it’s probably not a great surprise to see reports suggesting that new head coach Slaven Bilic wants to bring him back as he wouldn’t need to settle in.

The original report seems to have come from The Daily Mail but having claimed we made an enquiry for him again, they offer up no answer as to what Everton’s response was.

With the recent capture of Darnell Furlong on Tuesday afternoon from Queens Park Rangers, and with him predominantly being a right-back, I’d be surprised if Holgate did return now but I certainly wouldn’t be against it given his versatility as it would leave us better covered in both the right and central spots.
