Lots of West Brom supporters have taken to social media to blast winger Matty Phillips following Friday’s Championship outing.
Slaven Bilic’s side were defeated 1-0 by Brentford at Griffin Park, meaning the automatic promotion race has a new twist with the Bees moving to within five points of the top two.
Ollie Watkins goal-line stab in the 16th minute was enough to seal all three points, leaving the Baggies winless and goalless since their return to action.
Is Matty Phillips good enough for West Brom?
Absolutely!
No way!
Much of the Hawthorns faithful have slammed the 29-year-old wide man for his display, even if it was shortlived after he was withdrawn at the break.
Per SofaScore, Phillips could only muster up nine accurate passes and he failed to deliver any accurate crosses, dribbles or shots in his 45 minutes of action. It was certainly a disastrous night for the Scotsman.
It has led to fans calling for the veteran to leave the club whilst others have unleashed at him, brandishing him a “liability” who’s “lazy.”
