West Brom Look To The Emirates Again For A Well Known Bilic Player

|

With the summer transfer rumour mill more in full flow for West Bromwich Albion following the long search for a new head coach and the appointment of Slaven Bilic recently, it’s now been claimed that we will again turn to Arsenal for out of favour defender Carl Jenkinson.

Back in late August 2017 we sent a reported £7million their way for, now, 29-year-old Kieran Gibbs as we looked to improve the left back position and we now are set to do the same to fill the problematic right back slot.

Sky Sports reported on Wednesday afternoon that talks were already being held between both clubs and with 27-year-old Jenkinson only featuring eight times last season, he’s definitely interested in a move away for greater game time.

Celtic are also namechecked in the report.

Jenkinson’s versatility could prove to be a bonus here, although no fee is stated that I can see, as last season he played on both defensive flanks, further forward on the right hand side and even filled in at centre-half for one game.

So that might be a bonus for Bilic, and he does know him well from his two loan spells at West Ham United a few season’s back.

Right back has long been a problem, maybe this is the year we get it sorted properly?
