West Brom Linked With 17 Goal League One Ace

|

For those West Bromwich Albion fans who follow wider news in the football world, Portsmouth attacker Jamal Lowe has been a regular on the rumour mill and as this week came to a close, we were the latest club to be linked with the 24-year-old.

The attacking winger came through Barnet’s youth ranks and did his apprenticeship in the non-league, but having impressed Portsmouth picked him up in the January 2017 window and he’s gone to make 100 starting appearances for the club since then, with an additional 19 showings from the bench. Across those games, he’s chipped in with 30 goals – with 17 of them coming in 2018/19, along with nine assists.

It’s long been believed that for the right price (£3million) he would be available this summer and the Daily Star had us linked with him back in mid May after they fell to League One Play-Off disappointment against Sunderland and it looks like that story is just being rehashed under the guise of an exclusive, when it’s basically repeating what was already known.

Now we actually have a gaffer though, for the £3million fee listed given he has plenty of development left to do, I could see Slaven Bilic being interested in him not only for his talent but also, as West Brom will be keenly aware, his potential future profit.
