West Brom Journey Ends For Academy Graduate After 12 Year Stay

|

Although West Bromwich Albion continue their preparations for Aston Villa in our upcoming Play-Off Semi-Final battles for the Championship promotion in 2018/19, this time of year always means some disappointment for youngsters in our Under 23 setup as decisions are made about their futures.

Academy graduate Alex Bradley has been with us since he was seven years old, but he’s confirmed this week that he’s moving on to pastures new after being informed that his deal won’t be extended through 2019/20.

The 20-year-old has featured in the EFL Trophy for us since they allowed in U23 squads and he’s naturally been a regular at U23 level in our Premier League 2 campaign, but he didn’t make an official senior appearance during his spell with us.

First team football did come his way during loan spells out with Havant and Waterlooville in the first half of this season, and he built on that by spending the second half of the campaign out with Burton Alion in League One – seven substitute showings with a return of one goal.

It’s expected that Burton will quickly snap him up given how he impressed at the Pirelli Stadium.
