West Brom Hoping For Three Deadline Day Deals & Southampton Links Are Back

|

With the summer transfer deadline edging ever closer, it’s been reported this morning that West Bromwich Albion have reentered talks with Southampton over striker Charlie Austin.

“His Loss, Not Ours” – These West Brom Fans Seem Relieved As Premier League Striker Rejects Us

The 30-year-old has been of interest to us for a while but our original approach at a reported £8million was knocked back by the player himself as presumably he didn’t want to lower his wages and drop into the Championship, but the Express and Star have reported today that Austin has now basically accepted he has no future at the club (which everyone has known for a long time) so he’s now open to just securing himself game time – so the deal is back on.

They also believe that he’s now travelled to the club for talks and a medical.

The E&S also expect us to complete loan deals today for wingers Grady Diangana (West Ham) and Matheus Pereira (Sporting) ahead of the 5pm deadline in a few hours.

It could be a busy evening.
