Portsmouth captain Sol Campbell has urged for focus as his side takes on West Brom in Saturday’s FA Cup Semi-Final.

He also highlighted a certain Kevin Phillips, who he undoubtedly knows from Premier League days gone by as the West brom danger man to snuff out, if Portsmuoth are set for a Wembley final date.

“We’ve got to make sure we’re really on the ball, and also respect who we are playing against,’ said Campbell, 34.

“We’ve got to be careful not to give Phillips too much space.”

Manager Harry Redknapp, who knows of Phillips’ talents from their time at Southampton (before ‘Arry bottled it) is similarly concerned about the former England strikers abilities as well as that of a resurgent West Brom side:

“He’s a proper striker who knows what to do,” said the Portsmouth boss.

“West Brom are a very good side. They are favourites to go back up to the Premier and nearly did it last year.

“If they had been in the top division then I’m sure they wouldn’t have come down. They play good football and score a lot of goals – well into double figures in the Cup run already.”
