With the dust settling on West Bromwich Albion’s relegation back to the Championship in the season of 2017/18, attention rightly turns to our next campaign.
With plenty of recent changes off the pitch, there’s a huge decision to be made on the manager going forward. That takes precedence over the club looking at who we allow to leave/want to leave on the playing staff as finances will be an issue to one degree or another owing to the lack of Premier League money moving forward.
In some cases, the club won’t have much of a decision to make there with relegation clauses possibly coming into play.
Then we’ll be looking to rebuild with hopes of bouncing back at the first time of asking and that brings us to players we can strengthen with.
For fans, the prime concern at the moment is losing those players who can make a significant difference in the second tier, and Salomon Rondon continues to be one of those. It’s also not the first time fans have expressed their desire to see him stay with us, as well as Jay Rodriguez for example.
Understandably, with Rondon being someone we could cash in on this summer Baggies fans aren’t sure whether to take this Tweet as proof he’s remaining with us, or whether it’s an early way of saying goodbye.
Thank you, Baggies, for always being with us. đź’™ pic.twitter.com/iX3dWpPB5v

Regis Astle Rondon
Your chance to become a legend big man.— Neil Hoare (@hoare_neil) May 16, 2018
As plenty have pointed out, Rondon’s style of play and effort would certainly see him become a hit in the Championship and although he more struggled for a goal return this season, I really can’t see that being a problem in the second tier. If anything the confidence boost he’d get from that could really see him take the top-flight by storm.
