West Brom Fail In Chase For Wantaway Premier League Midfielder

|

It was being reported yesterday that West Bromwich Albion have failed at the first hurdle in trying to tempt Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden to The Hawthorns.

The 23-year-old came through Arsenal youth setup and he made the move to St James’ Park back in the summer of 2016 and so far has 52 starting appearances to his name, with a further 24 showings from the substitutes bench. He’s also returned three goals for them in that time, but he has only made nine appearances for Rafa Benitez so far this season and he reportedly sent in a written transfer request last summer as he wants to move closer to Wales for family reasons.

The E&S report that although Newcastle will entertain a sale this month, they won’t do so prior to getting a replacement in and have rejected our opening offer, so from our point of view, the deal is in doubt because Newcastle don’t look to be that active yet.

Might be one to watch out for on deadline day, to be honest.
