West Bromwich Albion announced earlier today that we had completed the speculated signing of Leicester City youngster Harvey Barnes.
The 20-year-old wide player comes in for the entire 2018/19 Championship campaign and he has signed in time to feature in tonight’s pre-season friendly against Barnsley where Baggies will get their first chance to cast their eye over him.

Having come through Leicester’s Academy setup, the player has made three substitute appearances in the Premier League and featured for them in the FA Cup twice, as well as the Champions League as a substitute. Aiding his development further has been loan spells out at MK Dons and Barnsley and he arrives at The Hawthorns with eleven goals in 44 starting appearances and 13 substitute showings.
Head coach Darren Moore told wba.co.uk.

“He is an exciting young player – one that I think our supporters will enjoy watching. We’ve got a lot of exciting youngsters at this club and Harvey now adds to that group. He’s got good experience of the Championship already and I am thrilled at the prospect of him adding his talents to our group. I couldn’t be happier that we have been able to bring him in.”
All eyes to tonight’s friendly now but fans shouldn’t expect too much from him initially as he settles in and adjusts to his new colleagues, but he’s certainly highly rated at Leicester so he could be a little gem for us this year.
Welcome on board @harveybarnes97 – look forward to a few pelters ⚽️

Good signing on loan. Wish him a great season. A win-win situation for both clubs, as well as for Harvey.
