West Brom’s on loan striker Roman Bednar scored twice as West Brom beat Plymouth 2-1 on Wednesday night to close the gap to just two points on Championship leaders Watford, who had lost on Tuesday night.

Bednar, who was making his full debut opened the scoring on nine minutes, then after Zoltan Gera had an effort cleared off the line the on loan Hearts striker scored his second just before the break. Plymouth missed a couple of good chances but did score a consolation six minutes from time through substitute Jermaine Easter.

West Brom have now opened up a three point gap ahead of Charlton in third, and are now within striking distance of Watford who are stuttering along at the moment after a flying start to the season.
