“We Were Kind Of Happy” – Bilic On West Brom’s Disappointing Millwall Point

|

Having taken an opening day Championship victory over Nottingham Forest, head coach Slaven Bilic was busy on transfer deadline day and we made a number of captures to improve the overall strength of the West Bromwich Albion group, but there were no fresh faces in the side to face Millwall earlier today.

Bilic clearly decided to let our newbies settle in first and get more training time under their belts before making their bows.

Whilst West Brom almost completely controlled the ball, chances for both sides on the day were pretty level and having taken the lead in the second period through an own goal, unfortunately with 15 minutes remaining Millwall got their leveller and we couldn’t find another way through.

Onto the next one now.

Speaking to the BBC following the final whistle, Bilic said of the performance and result.

“I’m disappointed with the result, but I can’t be negative about the performance – the only thing I didn’t like, and it happened at Forest – we were kind of happy. We didn’t create a lot, we had one great chance in the first half, but we created some good opportunities. Our decision making there wasn’t the greatest. We have to win home games, especially when we’re 1-0 up.”
