The West Brom run in the FA Cup is over for another year after the fifth round defeat against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.

West Brom’s exit from the cup after a three-one defeat at Reading has, in many way overshadowed by the coin thrown at Chris Brunt at fulltime, but that shouldn’t detract from the fact the Championship side caused an upset.

Darren Fletcher had West Brom ahead early in the second half but former West Brom defender Paul McShane headed Reding level soon after.

Michael Hector had the Royals ahead on 72-minutes with Lucas Piazon coming off the bench to seal the win for the home side deep into injury-time but this wasn’t against former boss Steve Clarke (not that it matters) as he was sacked earlier in the season with Brian McDermott re-appointed.

These were the other fifth round results.

Saturday 20th February 2016
Arsenal 0-0 Hull
Reading 3-1 West Brom
Watford 1-0 Leeds
Bournemouth 0-2 Everton

These games are to be played.

Sunday 21st February 2016
Blackburn v West Ham 14:00
Tottenham v Crystal Palace 15:00
Chelsea v Man City 16:00

Monday 22nd February 2016
Shrewsbury v Man Utd 19:45

It didn’t entirely go as planned (on Saturday) did it with holders Arsenal (nil-nil) forced to a replay against Championship side Hull, who the Gunners of course beat in the final a couple of years back.

Fellow Premier League side West Brom were upset by another club from the second tier with last season’s semi finalist Reading (three-one) winning at the Madejski Stadium to remain on course for the last four once more!

Who was the Albion MotM in this game? That’s what the latest poll is asking so do cast a vote.

Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most?
