The ongoing saga of Spaniard Borja Valero transfer away from the Hawthorns looks set to rumble on after a bid for the midfielder was rejected by the club.

Borja is thought to be desperate to complete a move to La Ligue club Sevilla after spending last season on loan to fellow La Ligue side Mallorca. Borja earned rave reviews from the Spanish press during his season in Mallorca, however Borja`s dreams of returning to Spain ended, for now, when Sporting Director Dan Ashworth labelled the offer from Sevilla as “nowhere near acceptable”.

Ashworth told the clubs official site;

“It was rejected outright as it was nowhere near what we would regard as an acceptable offer.

“If we do not receive a satisfactory offer for Borja, we are more than happy for him to rejoin us for pre-season training in three weeks time and be part of our Barclays Premier League squad.”

Although the clubs stance on the situation is commendable it is unknown as to how Borja will respond to the club blocking his departure. One thing is for sure, our club will not be bullied into accepting unsatisfactory offers.
