Steve Clarke has said our pre season tour to Sweden has been crucial for him as he makes his plans for the coming season.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after our victory over Copenhagen, Clarke described the tour as ‘crucial’ as he began to see what our players could actually do.

‘For me, this tour has been absolutely crucial. I’ve got to know the players a bit more personally, they’ve got to know me, and I’ve also go to know my staff, so it’s been a really good trip. Winning at Copenhagen was a nice way to round things off.’

One thing that Clarke did pick out from the game that disappointed him was the unforced errors we were making in possession, and whilst that can be put down to rustiness or lack of match sharpness, he knows it’s something he needs to see a clear improvement in before the season starts because you can’t gift Premiership teams possession so cheaply and not expect to be punished.
