Top marks for Super Baggies

This was the night that everything went right for Albion, and a night that leaves us sitting eight points clear of third place Nottingham Forest.

Another cool-as-you-like Graham Dorrans penalty gave us the lead in the 79th minute and a second in two games for substitute Ishmael Miller gave us the three points right on the close.

With Swansea having the tightest defence in the division this match was always going to be a cagey affair. The thing is, they don’t score many goals either and didn’t really know how to counter a majestic West Brom side that got their noses in front… and kept them there.

The team selection was spot on (even if some changes were forced onto Di Matteo), the defence coped superbly (Carson hardly troubled), and the substitutions were perfectly timed.

Miller came on and grabbed a goal and Chris Brunt was replaced with Giles Barnes who proved to be a real handful right up until the end of the match.

Next up, Preston on Saturday and we’re only a point behind Newcastle. Happy days!
