Newcastle United’s Cheick Tiote and Aston Villa’s Ciaran Clark – with James Morrison out to Middlesbrough?

They’re the rumours doing the rounds at the minute.

The other day saw us once again linked with Villa’s Republic of Ireland centre half – sometime left back – and it was said his new deal at the relegated near rivals had a £5million release fee.

Reports were vague but it was said we would be tempted at that fee having failed to agree a deal for him last summer.

There are also suggestions we are one of a number of clubs looking at Newcastle’s 29 year old Ivory Coast midfielder whose said to be set for a departure this summer following their relegation.

The reports suggest his transfer fee would be an issue having just signed a long term deal with them.

We’re also being linked with their defender Paul Dummett – and again having signed a long term deal they say the fee would be a stumbling block.

Additional reports are saying that we haven’t yet made our minds up on loanee Sandro as we do have a permanent option on the 26 year old and that brings us to Morrison finally, with the 29 year old yet to agree a new deal – it’s said Middlesbrough are heavily interested in taking him back to the Riverside.

He of course joined from Boro back in 2007.
