Three West Brom Players Got An 8 Rating From Wigan But Who Took MotM

|

Boxing Day’s clash between West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic saw Darren Moore’s side maintain our automatic promotion hopes as victory saw us close the gap to Norwich City to only three points.

A brace of goals from Jay Rodriguez stretched our unbeaten run to eight matches but the hamstring injury suffered by Dwight Gayle is a concern but hopefully it won’t prove to be too problematic.

With another strong performance on the day from the side, statistics website Whoscored rated the players incredibly well for the large part, but Rodriguez obviously took their star man award with a score of 8.67.

We also had another two players with eight-plus scores, Ahmed Hegazi (8.09) and Gareth Barry (8.08).

Completing the top five on the day were Craig Dawson (7.52) and goalkeeper Sam Johnstone (7.33).

Special mentions for Matt Phillips and Tosin Adarabioyo who also rated at seven-plus for their own efforts.

On to the next one now.
