It’s all bad news today. Steven Reid will now miss the rest of the season after scans showed he has injured his ankle ligaments.

After meeting with a specialist in Holland yesterday, it has been decided the right back will undergo surgery next week to correct the problem so he can be fresh and fit for our next campaign.

It’s likely he will be out for around 3 months.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Roy Hodgson said.

‘It’s a major blow to lose Steven. He’s done so well at the club since I came here, he’s been outstanding. It’s not the same injury he suffered at Newcastle, it’s the same ankle but this time it’s an internal ligament rather than an external ligament.’

Swift recovery Reidy!
