Steve Clarke has said our start to the season has proved him right that no major changes were needed to our squad when he took the job.

Whilst there have been a number of additions, the club have worked on plugging gaps and providing options more than rewriting the whole first team, and Clarke agrees with this as he thinks those pundits who said we would struggle were being unfair on ‘solid Premier League’ players.

Speaking to wba.co.uk the head coach said.

‘I didn’t see great reason to rip everything up and start again, I think we’ve got a platform but there is still a long way to go.’

Clarke also says he isn’t getting carried away after our start, just as he wasn’t panicking when everybody was writing us off.

‘It didn’t faze me when we were written off, and we’ve not getting carried away. But I do think it’s unfair to say this group of players will struggle.’
