It was the news that most West Bromwich Albion fans were probably expecting, but certainly hoping it comes to nothing – Nathan Ferguson is now being linked with potential January transfer window moves to either Tottenham Hotspur or Crystal Palace.
The 19-year-old talent has had a remarkable year under manager Slaven Bilic so far in the 2019/20 campaign, as his breakthrough season has already seen him make eleven appearances for us, and he’s been very impressive filling in at both left and right back – and as fans will be aware, the club are in talks to tie him down to a fresh new long term contract – reportedly five years.
Over the weekend, the Birmingham Mail were reporting that Spurs had already sent scouts to watch him and having returned ‘raving’ about his performance levels, they are said to be preparing a £10million deal in the January window as they look to solve their own defensive issues.
Palace’s interest seems to be based on losing Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United, but whatever the truth may be here, there’s no way we’d entertain a deal at £10million in the current market. He’s shown good signs of being worth at minimum, double that, already.
