Some Fans Want West Brom Midfielder To Be Given A Contract Now – Others Not So Much

|

With West Bromwich Albion’s pre-season plans continuing this last week up in Scotland as we utilised the facilities of St Andrew’s University to step up our preparations and intensity as we build towards the coming 2018/19 Championship campaign, one man’s inclusion on the trip was a delight for many.

Step forward James Morrison.

The 32-year-old Scottish international is technically out of contract with his deal expiring this summer, but we do hold a 12-month option on him from memory that we can still probably enact. He is training with us though as he rebuilds his fitness following injury last season and the troublesome Achilles issue restricted him to only eight appearances across the entire campaign – all coming in the first half of the season.

Having travelled with the group up north, plenty of fans were delighted that he had the opportunity to secure that contract extension and the club’s social media team were a little cheeky posting a quick video concerning his progress (as above).

Fans were obviously delighted to see him out on the training pitches, but the message was clear.

It’s far from unanimous though.
