Beating Manchester United might be seen as a fairly easy thing to do in this era of football, but earlier in the century, the Red Devils were one of the toughest sides around.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s United sides were iconic for how hard they were to break down, yet in 2003, with a young Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting XI that would go on to win five Ballon d’Or’s in his career as accolades from Transfermarkt show, West Brom managed to best the Premier League giants in a 2-0 win in the League Cup.

The result remains a memorable one for Baggies supporters, and West Brom decided to honour the game with a video on their official Twitter account showing the two goals on the night, a video that plenty of Albion fans on social media enjoyed.

West Brom were unable to keep up their magical run in the League Cup that year, though, as the Baggies were shortly eliminated by Arsenal in the next round of the competition.
