“Slav Can Bring Out The Best In Him” – These West Brom Fans Believe 22 y/o When He Says He Can Step Up Under Bilic

|

Following what can only be described as a mixed spell up in Scotland with Celtic, West Bromwich Albion winger Oliver Burke has been waxing lyrical about the appointment of new head coach Slaven Bilic this week, believing he can learn plenty from the Croatian gaffer.

The 22-year-old scored four goals in 19 appearances during his loan spell and he’s now hard at work along with what remains of our first team setup at their Costa Blanca training camp and speaking to wba.co.uk this week, it seems like Burke is in the mood to finally get his career going at The Hawthorns given his severe lack of involvement after his big money arrival.

“I think it’s a great appointment and obviously he’s a fantastic manager, I think everyone knows that. I think the training sessions have been great. The quality and the standard has really risen and everybody’s really looking to impress and perform under him. I think everyone knows they can learn a lot as he’s a good coach. For the young players coming through it’s important, even for me, to take everything in like a sponge. Each day is really important as a player and I think that’s really important for me so I’m happy with the appointment and I think it’s perfect for me to learn as much as I can to really progress and give back to West Brom now. I know what I can do and I’m sure the coaches know what I’m capable of now. It’s just down to me to go out and prove it and give my all for the club.”

Taking to social media to react to the interview, plenty of fans are hoping that under Bilic it becomes his year to shine in the 2019/20 campaign and he finally builds on his very early promise during his days with Nottingham Forest.
