Following on from the sacking of Darren Moore at West Bromwich Albion, caretaker gaffer Jimmy Shan got off to a perfect start in midweek as we took a comfortable 3-0 victory over Swansea City at The Hawthorns.

Goals from Chris Brunt, Mason Holgate and Jay Rodriguez gave him a dugout debut victory and with the club seemingly having no one lined up for the job, if he has aspirations of his own, he’s certainly done himself no damage at all after that result.

Whatever the relative merits and criticisms that can be levied against his appointment to the role when it comes to some fans seeing the cheap panic option, and others instantly worrying that the complaints that could be thrown at Moore about experience in the job would surely apply to Shan aswell, I think for now we just enjoy the return to winning ways for a bit before looking wider afield.

  • Will you just stop printing this rubbish! Comfortable???? We were awful! Snatch and grab robbery of a home match! One game and calling for his appointment as a manager? Why do so many of you print this tripe?

    • I’d call a 3-0 scoreline comfortable, especially as we had similar chances despite far less of the ball. Please notice I make no specific reference to the performance itself.

“comfortable 3-0 victory” doesn’t quite mean the same as a ‘comfortable 3-0 victory with a stellar performance”.
