Yassine El Ghanassy has sealed his loan move to Albion, and all the paperwork has now been finalised.

The striker, who can also play on either wing, turns 22 tomorrow and has joined on loan for the season, and the club have confirmed they have a clause to make the move permanent whenever they may wish.

If reports are to be believed, the fixed fee is expected to be in the region of £2m.

El Ghanassy has been handed the No 10 shirt for the coming campaign after flying through his medical.

Speaking to wba.co.uk as the deal was announced, head coach Steve Clarke said of the player.

‘I’m delighted to welcome Yassine to the club. He’s an exciting young prospect who will hopefully add something different to our squad. This is a big move for Yassine and we’ll have to be patient as he settles and gets to grip with the Premier League, but we believe he has the raw talent to make an impact here.’

Sporting and Technical Director Dan Ashworth added that El Ghanassy was a player we had been looking at for some time.

‘Yassine is a player we have watched develop for a couple of years. He has shown in Belgium his ability to put defenders on the back foot and create and score goals. We hope he will grow into the league and prove a real asset.’
