Roy Hodgson has described our 3-0 loss to Swansea today as our worst performance of the season.

Speaking to wba.co.uk on the long journey back from Swansea, Hodgson said.

‘I have no complaints about the defeat. It was undoubtedly our worst performance of the season. We lost to the better team.’

Hodgson describes the first two goals as very poor and following the third in the second half, he says it was always going to be an uphill battle to get anything from the match.

‘We played poorly but I thought Swansea played very well. That attempt to get a result isn’t going to be helped by conceding two poor goals. They were very clear defensive errors. At 3-0 Swansea were in the ascendancy and the only positive I can take is that we kept going and even tried to get a goal back.’

Hodgson is now obviously looking for a proper response from the team in the next game, and he’s hoping it was just a bad day at the office, saying five games in is too early to talk about bad form or to make strong and bold statements.
