Roy Hodgson has said he was proud of the boys for their effort and attitude in today’s victory over Chelsea.

Speaking to wba.co.uk with a smile on his face after we finally beat them in the league for the first time in 33 years, the head coach responded to Villas-Boas claim that we were ‘far superior’ to Chelsea, by saying.

‘That was very gracious of him, it’s very difficult to make those sorts of comments when you lose a game. I thought we played well. The performance was a very good one from start to finish. As a team, we can feel proud of our performance, it wasn’t a poor performance by Chelea, it was a good performance by us.’
