Roy Hodgson believes today’s 3-1 loss was harsh given how Spurs won it.
Speaking to wba.co.uk after the defeat Hodgson said he felt harshly done by after Spurs grabbed two late goals to take all 3 points, as he thought we were good enough to have deserved a point.
‘I don’t really think we deserved to lose. Spurs had a number of attacking chances towards the end and in the end they did score two goals. But for large parts of the game, I felt we did very well. I thought the shape of the team and our passing and movement were good, but the result was rubbish!’
Hodgson also bemoaned our lack of luck when it comes to penalties this season. It’s difficult to hang the result on penalty decisions given the number of chances Spurs had in the game, but it would be nice if referee’s started evening them up now.
