Markus Rosenberg has said he is determined to prove he can make it in the Premier League following his move to the club.

In his first interview the Swedish international told wba.co.uk.

‘It’s nice to finally get the deal done. I met Dan (Ashworth) a few weeks ago in Sweden and the head coach in Malmo during the pre season tour. I had a lot of offers but I have never played in the Premier League and it was something I really wanted to try.’

Rosenberg admitted he had had a good chat with Jonas Olsson about the club and he had nothing but good to say, so when he talked about his role with us and Clarke’s plans, it was a no brainer – especially as he can adjust easier to the club through Olsson’s friendship.

He also admits our style of play will suit his strengths better, as he’s not really a target man and doesn’t like dealing with lots of high balls, so Albion wanting to play it on the ground more is perfect for him, although he has got a lot of fitness work to do if he wants to be in consideration for the opener against Liverpool.
