Robbie Keane To The Baggies?

It’s being reported that Roy Hodgson is interested in securing the services of Robbie Keane, with Blackburn Rovers being the other interested party.

Giovanni Trapattoni apparently urged him to join us yesterday but I can’t find those exact quotes. What he did apparently say was.

‘Robbie is talking to two Premier League clubs and it’s important that he goes to one of them and plays.’

Obviously Trapattoni is concerned with Keane being fit and on form for the Republic of Ireland team, and it’s known that Hodgson was a fan of Keane and tried to take him to Fulham.

But what would fans think of that given his history with Wolves?

We’ve just seen the Villa go into meltdown over the appointment of Alex McLeish with many horrified they have appointed a former Blues manager…should Keane roll up to the Hawthorns would we see our own protests or are we a little bit more sensible than that?

To be honest I’d say Keane has moved around enough during his career for any Wolves ties to mean very little to me. Ok he came through their Academy but he didn’t stick around long until moving to Coventry.

If we are looking for somebody to take the pressure off Odemwingie, and allow Cox to develop properly, I think we could do far worse than Keane to be honest.
