Report: West Brom to bid £8m for 21-cap international forward as Bilic eyes two winter signings

|

West Brom have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Dinamo Zagreb forward Mislav Orsic, with Slaven Bilic keen to add two new names to the Baggies squad this month.

According to The Telegraph, the Croatian manager is ready to bid £8m for the 27-year-old attacker after confirming last week to The Express and Star that the club are interested in the Champions League scoring winger, and that West Brom are also eyeing another name to add their ranks before the closure of the window.

Orsic, who has made 21 international appearances for Croatia across all age groups as stats from Transfermarkt show, will reportedly cost the Baggies just €9.5m (£8m) despite the 27-year-old winger scoring a whopping 19 goals for Dinamo this season as stats from Transfermarkt show, including a hat-trick against Serie A side Atalanta in the Champions League.

Do West Brom need to spend in January?

Yes, the squad needs that extra something

No, we're sorted for now

West Brom have been actively looking for an attacker all January with Bilic eager to add to the club’s attacking power heading into the second half of the Championship season, with the Baggies in need of an out-and-out goalscorer to lead the line.

The Albion have been in atrocious form over the past few weeks, with West Brom yet to win a Championship game in 2020 and seeing their gap over sides in the play-off spots in the table shrink to just five points with the Baggies and Leeds United continuing to slip at this stage of the season.

With Bilic also targeting a player in the fullback department, with Martin Olsson still on trial at the club as reported by The Express and Star, it could be a hectic final week in the January transfer window for West Brom, who will be looking to add quality additions this month if they are to continue their march for promotion back to the Premier League.
