Report: West Brom target who is ‘concentrating on football’ speaks out about reported move

|

Dinamo Zagreb attacker Mislav Orsic has spoken out for the first time about West Brom’s interest in him this January.

Speaking to Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti via The Birmingham Mail, the 27-year-old attacker admitted that he is only concentrating on his football this month despite fierce speculation linking the versatile forward with a move to the Championship.

Slaven Bilic himself admitted to The Birmingham Mail that he is interested in Orsic, who this season has been one of Zagreb’s most important players, scoring a hat-trick in the Champions League group stage and firing 11 goals in the Croatian first division as stats from Transfermarkt show.

Do West Brom need to spend in January?

Yes, the squad needs that extra something

No, we're sorted for now

Orsic has impressed for Zagreb this season, yet when asked about his future, the Croatian winger was quick to dismiss any talk about a move to West Brom in this transfer window, with the 27-year-old saying he is focused on training.

The attacker said: “It’s hard to talk about. You see, now I’m solely focused on Dinamo. Now, whether or not the offer will come, no one knows. That’s why I’m only focused on training here in Rovinj, and I want to get ready for the season to continue. Because we have two goals, to win the Championship and the Cup. This is what my agent takes care of, I am concentrating on football, training, team. A possible transfer, therefore, I cannot talk about now.”

With Bilic interested in the winger and West Brom keen in adding an attacker to their ranks for the second half of the season, Orsic could be the ideal signing for the Baggies this month given his impressive feats already this campaign, yet his latest comments on the matter could throw a spanner in the works for the Albion to pull off a deal.
