Report: West Brom leading race for £15million-rated individual

|

West Brom are in pole position to complete the signing of striker Karlan Grant from Huddersfield, a report from TeamTalk has claimed.

Grant has enjoyed an impressive season in a struggling Terriers side, scoring 18 goals in 42 league appearances for the club.

It was recently been revealed by The Yorkshire Post that Huddersfield have already received a £15million offer for the 22-year-old from another Championship club.

Now it seems as though it could be the Baggies who win the race to secure the services of the attacker, with the latest reports claiming that those close to the player believe that The Hawthorns is the next destination for Grant.

As things stand, there are two years remaining on Grant’s contract with Huddersfield, although the club are said to need to raise funds as a result of the financial impact of global events this year, and they are thought to be demanding £15million for Grant.

Would Karlan Grant be a good signing for West Brom?

Yes

No

This could certainly be a useful deal for the Baggies to secure.

A lack of goals upfront is an issue that has been exposed for the club this season, and Grant’s record suggests that he is someone who could help solve that.

Indeed, even with the struggles Huddersfield endured last season, Grant was still able to show he has the ability to find the net in the top-flight, something which West Brom will of course need if they win promotion to the Premier League this season.

It should also be noted however, that considering the amount Huddersfield are demanding for the striker, winning promotion to the Premier League could certainly help West Brom to fund this particular move.
