Report: WBA target only focussing on ‘playing football’ but hits at ‘dream’ to play in the PL

Jarrod Bowen has admitted that he is just focussing on playing football amid speculation that the Hull City star could leave the club in January, with West Brom one of the clubs reportedly interested in the attacker.

Speaking to The Sun via The Chronicle, the 23-year-old winger confessed that he has not been paying attention to rumours off the field concerning his future, with Bowen’s current deal with Hull set to end next summer.

The Athletic reported last week that West Brom are keen on the Hull forward, who would cost Slaven Bilic’s side up to £15m with Bowen being one of the stars of the Championship this season, with stats from WhoScored showing the forward has already bagged 15 goals this campaign.

Do West Brom need Bowen?

Yes, he's that extra threat we need

No, what we have is more than enough

Bowen said about his future: “Sometimes you must just take a step back from it all. The fact clubs are after you means that you must be doing something good on the pitch. I have people I trust off the pitch to take care of all of that and I just look after playing football. Then, whatever happens after that, happens.”

The Hull attacker also hinted that his ambition is to one day play in the English top-flight, with Bowen saying: “That is the dream, to be playing in the Premier League. I have the utmost confidence I can score goals at that level. But to say for sure, I need to be there to answer the question.”

With Bilic’s side 11 points above the play-off spots as the Championship table shows, there is a possibility that the Baggies could be back in the Premier League in 2020, and for the club, that could put them as an early favourite for the signing of Bowen in the January transfer window if his ambition is to play in the English top-flight.
