Report: ‘Other English clubs’ are interested in WBA superstar close to joining club permanently

West Brom are in danger of losing star attacker Matheus Pereira following reports from Portugal that claim ‘other English clubs’ are interested in the Brazilian attacker.

According to A Bola via Sport Witness, the 23-year-old winger has caught the eye of other clubs in England after a spell-bounding introduction to life in the Championship with West Brom, with Pereira being one of Slaven Bilic’s most important players this season and a key reason the Baggies find themselves top of the table.

As reported by The Express and Star, West Brom are close to making Pereira’s loan deal a permanent one with the Baggies agreeing a deal with Sporting Lisbon that once the youngster has made 30 Championship appearances of 45 minutes or more, Bilic’s side will be obligated to sign the Brazilian for good for a fee of £8.25m.

This isn’t the first time Pereira has found himself linked with a move away from West Brom despite not joining the club on a permanent deal yet, with The Mirror reporting in November that Premier League giants Manchester United were monitoring the youngster after a brilliant start to life in the Championship.

As stats from WhoScored show, the versatile attacker has been in scintillating form for the Baggies this season, with Pereira scoring five and assisting a league-high 10 in 25 Championship appearances, and these impressive numbers mean that if an English club was to come in for the West Brom star, Bilic could demand a sizeable transfer fee.

West Brom will likely shoot down any offers for Pereira should the Brazilian make the permanent move to the Hawthorns, and if the 23-year-old is to play a big part in the Baggies gaining promotion back to the Premier League, the winger could become a prime target for English clubs looking to spend big in the summer.
