Report Claims West Brom Are Now In Talks To Sell Wantaway Player – Oh No We’re Not

|

Few West Bromwich Albion fans believe that centre-half Craig Dawson will be with us come the opening day of the 2019/20 Championship campaign and we’ve already seen links with Watford emerge over the last week.

The 29-year-old centre-half made his thoughts perfectly clear last summer with the transfer request and off pitch issues as we turned down a few bids from Burnley, but you’d imagine this year we will definitely cash in and it’s just about securing the right price given he only has 12 months remaining on his contract.

Watford Now Said To Be Tracking West Brom Defender

With the link to Vicarage Road already known about, on Wednesday afternoon Sky Sports basically rehashed the news in one of their usual ‘understands’ pieces.

They make the obvious link with former goalkeeper Ben Foster making the same switch last summer, but the report certainly doesn’t contain any fresh developments other than angling more at talks are now taking place.

One thing it will guarantee though is that this rumour will now feed itself and we’ll probably find Dawson linked with a whole host of clubs before the end of the week, as I’m amazed the Sun’s earlier claim wasn’t picked up more.

As if I needed to prove that point, later in the day the Watford Observer claimed that they ‘understood’ that Dawson is not a target for Watford and categorically no talks have taken place.
