Ref Watch – West Brom v Tottenham

|

The Premier League have revealed the Officials who will take charge of the game between West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Referee: Mike Jones
Assistant Referees: Ian Hussin and Mark Scholes
Fourth Official: Andre Marriner

The referee has been in charge on a couple of occasions previously this season in a game featuring West Bromwich Albion.

He oversaw the 2-1 defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium at the beginning of January and in that game he showed five yellow cards. Two of which, went to a West Brom player.

He was also in charge of the Wembley encounter against this weekend’s opposition where we took a point for our efforts. Five yellow cards were also shown in that game with four coming in our direction.

Five appears to be his lucky number as that was again the tally of yellows shown in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester City at The Hawthorns in late October. Again two went to West Brom players.

Back in September he also featured in our EFL Cup clash with Pep Guardiola’s side. We lost that match 2-1 and you can guess the number of yellows shown…we only picked up one of them though.

The game takes place at The Hawthorns on Saturday, May 5 and the match gets underway at 3pm.

In terms of his statistics for the season of 2017/18 he’s been in charge of 25 games giving a return of 109 yellow cards and three red cards in total so far.

He’s also featured in every professional division this season and both Cup competitions.
