The Premier League have revealed the Officials who will take charge of the game between Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion.
Referee: David Coote
Assistant Referees: Lee Betts and Andy Halliday
Fourth Official: Martin Atkinson
The referee has not been in charge previously in a game featuring West Bromwich Albion.
He has overseen 35 games so far in 2017/18, but those have been a mix of Cup ties, Championship affairs and League One and Two matches. This will be his first Premier League encounter of the campaign.
In fact, it could be his first Premier League clash of his career as going through his stats for the last three or four years there are no top-flight games to his name there either.
It seems like he’s up for promotion, so if West Brom manage to pull off the most unexpected of late relegation escapes we could well see him next season.
His 35 games this year have seen a return of 143 yellow cards and five red cards so he’s no shrinking violet when it comes to making decisions. Two matches have seen eight yellow cards shown this year as well.
