Pundit Almost Got West Brom Prediction Spot On

|

West Bromwich Albion hosted newly promoted Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns last Saturday for our most recent Championship clash.

Despite sitting pretty in the second tier table, West Brom’s form had wobbled lately and we registered back to back defeats against Wigan Athletic and Derby County, with the latter hammering us 4-1.

Blackburn was about drawing a line and getting back to our attacking best and although the goals didn’t flow, 20 attempts at goal with almost half on target was certainly a step in the right direction – sadly the second goal wasn’t forthcoming though and having only found the back of the net through Craig Dawson’s first-half effort, Blackburn’s equaliser made it 1-1 on the day – but it did end the losing streak.

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton had previewed the game and impressively he almost got it spot on.

“Blackburn will come to The Hawthorns to attack and this should produce a great game of football. I can’t split these two, however, so I’m going to back a score draw.”

He actually went for 2-2 as a final score and Blackburn weren’t as attacking on the day as he seems to have expected as they didn’t get into double figures for efforts on target, but a pretty decent call in hindsight.

What we have to ensure now is we build on that point again and get back to winning ways.
